In 1992, Pakistan won their first Cricket World Cup led by their captain, Imran Khan, who was a key factor to the team's victory. His ability to inspire and motivate was recalled to be a significant reason why the team was able to bounce back from a slow start to the tournament and ultimately winning the Cup. Famously, Imran Khan gave his "Cornered Tigers" speech which became a legendary moment in cricket history. Since then, the Pakistan cricket team became nicknamed, the "Cornered Tigers".

"Tonight, I want to tell you one thing. I have seen many ups and downs in cricket. I have seen many victories and losses. But I have never seen a team which has so much talent, yet lacks in self-belief.
